There's a place for you in One Voice.
Every Monday night a beautiful thing happens in Richmond, Virginia -- about 100 people come together to sing great music and experience the enriching power of choral music to bring together people historically separated by a long and difficult racial history.
With singers coming from all walks of life and across all kinds of racial and cultural boundaries, One Voice Chorus has a unique place in the Richmond arts community.
A community chorus in its truest sense, no audition is required for this "y'all come" group - all are welcome, without regard to race or creed or anything else. But our mission is specific - through our music, membership and outreach programs, One Voice works toward positive, healing relationships between Americans of African and of European descent. And, we've been doing it for TEN YEARS! YAY!
But can we sing?? Frankly, yes. Audience members are impressed when they hear us, and amazed to discover that there really are no auditions required to be in One Voice. We're diverse in the music that we sing as well as in our membership. Each year we present three major concerts, singing everything from Beethoven to Fats Waller.
